12 feet by 11 feet, plywood floor covered in heavy plastic (for foot comfort), wire netting on sides, nylon netting on top. Rubber snake on top to keep filthy wild birds out of feed pan.

Left side is for the ducks. 20'x20' chain link with hardware cloth around the bottom in the back pen. Pen is divided into 10'x10' sections with gate between. Have chicken wire over top. Have 2 lg dog houses in it plus a bucket and tote for water. I made some shade areas for them with a couple of pallets on stumps. Also put their food undercover a bit to try and keep it from getting rain soaked.

What kind of ducks are these so cute with the little fluff on their heads? Won't the plastic cause spraddle leg cause too slippery especially if it gets wet just wanting to know for my duck?

They look like "crested" Pekins....or as my 5 yr old calls them "George Washington" ducks.

I believe you can get a variety of duck breeds that are crested.

Yes, you can. But I was told by an expert that mine are not crested pekins, as pekins are a HUGE meat bird, as big as a goose. Mine are only 5-6 pounds, pekins are 12+ pounds.

Yes, I hear Pekins are huge...your ducks are ADORABLE. Wish I coulda gotten some crested ones. My kids think they are the cutest things.

Our ducklings come on Mon and DH is building the coop/run this weekend so I'll be posting pics soon.

Beautiful crested ducks! I have some ducklings coming from Metzer's on Wednesday along with some buffs. They'll be my first ducks and I'm currently working on my duck housing designs. We have a creek that we want to divert a bit to form a fenced, running water pond thingy. Has anyone done that? Can anybody think of why that may or may not be a good idea? (Assume we will have the entire pen fenced around and above to protect the ducks - I just don't know if the current will be good or bad.)
