I got a new stove today

it was not planned though.

Last night my DD put away the clean dishes, I thought she forgot to put away a Pyrex measuring cup, so I opened my cupboard to put it away and out came another Pyrex measuring cup landing right on top of my glasstop stove.

It hit so hard it put a hole in the top and cracks running in all different directions.

I have now moved things around so the measuring cups are no longer above the stove area, but my pots are.

My new stove had to be ordered so I won't have til Wednesday. Thank goodness for crockpots and slowcookers.

Mom is terrified something will fall on our glass top so nothing but paper packets (koolaid and stuff) is allowed up there. Loose reciepes that aren't in a book or anythign are up there too. She won't even allow jelly and stuff because "if it falls right, you'll be buyin me a new one" I hate that stove but it is so much better than coils.

Glad I just have a regular stove,I only like cooking with propane or gas...Thats what saved us when we had that ice storm in 2002....no electric for like 5 days...

My dream stove is a dual fuel 48" dual oven stove.

As much as I cook I need the extra burners and since my son likes to cook too we need the space so we do not keep running into each other.

Have a Pyrex cup drop from about 2 1/2 feet up straight on it, spout side down.

I checked out how much it would cost to repair; $500.00. Not counting shipping and work.
$300 more and I got a new stove.

If you add a small lip in the cabinet above the stove it helps, did that on my parents house long ago and they never had another issue. They got luck theirs was just a big can of salt that fell lol.
