I ordered chicks from my pet chicken... THEY ARE HATCHING TOMORROW!!! Well any who, I want to pick them up, but I want to be with everyone... is it ok to leave them at the post office for a while??? Do they have a temp controlled enviorment? Oh, one more thing... do they ship them right after they hatch? IF anyone has any experience with the whole wesite ordering thing, would you mind giving me an estimate of how many days...WE HAVE WAITED SOOOOO LONG FOR OUR BABIES AND WANT THEM SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks!!!!!

Babies need to be in an heat controlled enviroment with water and food! so do not wait. The post office is not going to give them what they need!!!!!!

Pick them up AS SOON AS you get the call from the Post Office!

They'll need some water and warmth!

You shouldn't wait to go get them. Chicks need to be in temps around 90 degrees and a post office is not going to be that hot. Plus depending if it takes 1-3 days to get to you, they will need water/food and I don't know if the people in the post office want cheepers in there for long.

Absolutely do NOT wait....unless you want to pick up dead chicks. I call my post office the day before to let them know the chicks are coming, and then call again first thing in the morning the day they are scheduled to arrive. I don't bother waiting for the post office to call me! The chicks need food, water and a quiet place to relax after what will have been a stressful couple of days in transit.
