Hi and welcome! Congratulations on your retirement! I've never done meat birds but I do frequently read about them in the meat bird section. I would really like to raise my own meat, I hope you have good luck in your chicken adventures.

Hi Mrs. Kathy, in addition to the Cornish X, please consider the Delaware. A large white bird with black markings on the upper portions. It has been reputed to have an excellent taste, or the American Breese. Though rare the Breese is another meat bird...Good luck with your Barred Rocks...
