Just an update, my chicken eggs, were locked down Saturday 8 pm. this moring 2 had pipped and were chirping and 2 more were rocking! Stinks that I had to go to work! Oh well, my husband is on vacation so he is on egg watch with instructions to call me if anything happens. these eggs are "suprise eggs" since I have no idea what kind of chicken they are. Just got the incubator a few weeks ago and were given the eggs for a trial run sice it has been so long since I have incubated eggs. At least I know what my turkey eggs are, two Blue Slate and 2 Bourbon Reds.

Hi I am new here too. I also just had one hatch last night (Palm) and another peep. Mine where not due until the 29th. Nice to meet you.

My turkeys are due July 6th. Last time I candled on Friday, there was movement in3 of the 4 eggs so hopefully I will have good luck with them!

Update! I just got a call from my husband. My first chick is out of the shell and running laps around the incubator! The second is working his way around the shell too! I will post pictures soon.

They are all doing great! I had one that pipped but one of the chicks that had just hatched rolled it over and he didn't make it out of the shell. Two more eggs to go, nothing from yet but still waiting

Hi and Welcome to BYC! Watch out, this site can be as addicting as the poultry itself.
I'm in Whiting, near Middlebury, Vermont.
Congrats on your newly hatched chicks and best of luck with hatching the poults.
