My wife and I are new to the forum and new to raising chickens. WE ARE ADDICTED!! We started with five Gold Laced Wyondotte hens a rooster and seven barred rock hens and a rooster. I built a coop and quickly found ourselves wanting more and different types of chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and guines.

We now have ten Rhode Island reds, nine Barred Rocks, and eight bantys in the brooder. They are two weeks old now. I enjoy watching them sleep and watching them chase after the "lucky" one who gets the worm I drop in with them.

Our kids light up when they bring eggs in from the hen house.

We are now planning a hen house to accomodate a whole bunch of chickens.

We are also in the process of getting our 18 acres fenced and ready for boer goats.
