I live in the great Pacific Northwest, home of the clouds and rain. Just got chicks 2 weeks ago. I have 14 now and still want more, not sure why. I have 4 Light Brahmas, 2 Polish, 2 Red Leghorns, 4 Black N.J. Giants, and two unidentified chicks. So far they are all healthy and appear happy.

I built my coop under the kids old "tree fort" which is really not in a tree, but supported by 4 telephone pole sections. The floor supports are 2 x 6 so it is very sturdy and it already had a roof! The space under it is just over 6 ft. high x 6 ft. wide x 8 feet long. I think it is critter proof and it is shaded so it doesn't get too hot. Haven't built my nest boxes or perch yet. My chicken yard is not finished but should be done this week so I can let the girls outside. We have hawks so I will have to cover the top.

I have 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 14 chickens, 2 dogs, 2 goats, ? cats, and one husband of 47 years.
