Hello! I live in Texas and have true backyard chickens. We currently have an EE and a Brown Leghorn. One we got from a friend, and one is a rescue. Both are very friendly and great additions to our family. We got two chicks today. One an Ameraucana and the other a Barred Rock, whose gender has been and will continue to be a discussion today! We waited to get them until we were set up and could handle littles. The kids are pretty excited!

Welcome from Georgia!!! Sounds like a beautiful mixed flock. Good luck stopping at 4!! I started with a couple of chicks a few years ago and now I have dozens!! It's called chicken math.

Ha! We live on a quarter acre. My math has to remain in check or we'll have more poop than grass!

We actually had to cull our other EE today. :( So I may end up with five just to get another egg producer in the mix. I was just going to get the BR chick, but I have two kids who each wanted one. Plus, I didn't want her to lonely. ;)

If y'all have thoughts to contribute on whether or not my BR is a he or she, hop over to my other post, please!
