New to BYC and Chickens!

Hello everyone!

Not entirely sure what to say -- as part of a class project, we had an incubator going and I received two of the hatched chicks. Since my mother grew up with chickens, we got really in to and later bought an additional two chicks this past Saturday. My incubated chicks are Jersey GiantsxSilkies and my bought chicks are Rhode Island Reds.

I'm currently documenting their progress of my blog and have frequently turned to BYC for advice and tuts! (All within the past month) My chicks are only a few days old - three were born Wednesday, the last born on a Thursday. They arrived here on Friday and Saturday.

Other pets in the house are two cats (outdoor), a couple fish and a hamster.

And that's about it! ^^

Thank you all so far for such a warm welcome! I'll try to post pictures later in the week - either tomorrow or the day after, since the chicks are still getting used to their new home. That and the red light + camera phone don't make the best combination. The crosses are quite big already, esp the oldest one.

As you all can tell, he is very upset at being photographed and handled. More pics may come later tonight!
