We are excited to join Backyard Chickens as we have found many answers to questions we have about our ducks. i had never planned on having ducks. My two youngest girls obtained our first two ducks by catching them at a kids rodeo. I didn't realize that they would be coming home with us. That was two years ago and they have been so much fun to have.
Little did I know, the ducks were a drake and a hen. Last year we added 6 duckling to our flock. Unfortunately we lost 4 of the ducklings early on so we ended up with a total of 4 ducks - 1 drake and three hens. We have a big field for the ducks to range in. Our ducks often visit our neighbors with a friendly quack. The three hens have now made nests and we are expecting the first set of ducklings this weekend. We are a little unsure of what to expect with the three hens but we are excited and anticipating the arrival of the ducklings.
Any advise would be appreciated.
