Hello all: my family and I bought a small 6 acre place a few years ago. When we moved here we had a rescue chicken (it was thrown out the window of a moving car in front of our old place). We didn't have a coop, but made do with a live trap and out building. One day she didn't come in at night, we figure an owl got her. Now my girls are in FFA and taking care of chickens once again. So long story short, we want more at home, along with some guineas, for eggs and pest control.

I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere I could find eggs to incubate and hatch out near the Cullman Alabama area. We are in the process of building our coop, but I kinda want to start now and hatch them out. I remember as a kid that the younger they were and the more my grandparents handled their birds the tamer they were. Thanks for all the help and advice. I'm sure I'll be back asking many more questions...

Welcome to BYC. Go to the "Social" forum and click on 'Where am I? Where are you!'. Locate the Alabama thread and hopefully someone there can help you locate some fertile eggs.
