New to BYC and loving it!

I have been reading and learning from BYC for past two months to prepare myself for starting my own backyard flock. BYC has been a great resource for me and has been my place to search when I have a concern or question. I had a rough go at it in the very begining as I lost 4 of 5 chicks within a day of recieving my day old chicks. I think the transit was real tough on them as they were in pretty bad shape when they arrived. I was able to replace our losses locally and have had our chicks for almost 3 weeks now. They are all doing great. We have 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Buff Orphingtons, and 1 Ameracauna. Figured it was time to join since it seems that I am on this site reading and learning more during my free time.
