(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My family is from east Tennessee, so I've grown up around, and cared for, livestock of all sorts, but on an 80-acre farm, not in a back yard. However, I've never personally owned chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Technically none right now! But I'll have two within the week.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm not sure what breed they are, though I know their name (Penelope and Peaches).
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I don't know just yet! As I said, I've cared for chickens, but not in such a small area.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I'm an avid fisherman and reader.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm newly-engaged (as of April), and I work in an emergency room, where I met my wife-to-be!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found y'all by searching for advice on Google. It seems like a wealth of knowledge in which I'd be excited to take part.
For reference, the coop/run that are being given to me on Saturday, as well as my raised garden mentioned in the poll question, are included as attachments.
