After 5 years of subtle hints about wanting chickens I finally convinced my hubby to agree! Yeah!! I've been busy getting everything ready for my first flock. I'm so excited.I will be picking g them up in 2 more weeks. 2 Bantam Cochins an Orpington an Olive Egger and 2 Frizzles.

Are you getting chicks or grown hens?
Do you have a secure coop built yet?

Grown hens. Yes I actually have 2 coops. One is attached to a new 8x10 covered run just finished today and the other is inside the run. Pretty crazy that I have 2 coops before I even have the first chicken. Lol

How exciting .. I have a few bantam Cochins and they are the sweetest little girls; be prepared for lots of broodiness though.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

I can't wait to spoil those sweet little bantams! I'm hoping the Orpington will kind of take the lead and watch over the rest of the girls.
