In the Brooder
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I started with 8 in spring of 2013. A critter broke into the coop and I was left with four. I think my neighbor has three of them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I thought it was time to overlap the ages so I have four 8 week old chicks that are in the coop which I divided and the 4 that are four years old.
We don't watch television; we watch chicken vision - the older four are let out in the evening to run free until roost time whenever we can be outside for supervision.
(3) What breeds do you have?
The older hens are 2 Ameraucanas and 2 Sexlinks
The chicks are 2 Cuckoo Marans and 2 Australorps

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Fiber - as in yarn. I knit, spin, weave. Glass - stained and fused.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have a black cat that showed up in a snow storm. He adopted us. He is Wilhe - will he scratch me or will he bite me. We live at the 4000 ft level on a ridge with an amazing view. I work about 1.75 hr away but am only in the office two days a week and work from home for the balance. I stay with my daughter and her family for the night I'm down for work. It's a pretty good gig.
