Hi All, we moved to an area a year ago that allows us to have chickens and roosters without restriction. We live on the west side of Tucson in the Tucson mountains. I've been researching for months and we currently have 2 baby Americaunas, one Polish and one black Orpington. And now we are working on the coop while they are in a climate controlled brooder in the garage.

I'm looking forward to being a part of this community.

Chickens are fun and will surprise you every day.

Someone posted about scorpion stings and chickens just the other day, and it made me grateful that they are ONE thing I don't have to worry about on the east coast!
If you live in Tucson (OBVIOUSLY) you are aware that there are scorpions in your surroundings...I'd make a link but haven't figured out just how to do that yet! Lol I'm still kind of new too! You can search for it from the main menu if you're interested...
Always good to be prepared just in case and learn as much as you can! That's why this site is so great. There is a seemingly endless wealth of information here.
