New to BYC

Hi I’m Lilly. I first got chickens about 2 years ago. I have 10 chickens; 5 adults and 5 babies, and more on the way. I have one silver Lakenvelder roo, one partridge silkie hen, a black Cochin roo, a Mille Fleur D’Uccle hen, and 6 mutts. I found out about BackYard Chickens when I was looking up safe treats for chickens and quail. I have around 50 pharaoh coturnix quail.

Welcome to BYC! Happy to hear you have quail, they are great fun. I have James Marie Jumbo Browns, Texas A&Ms, Schofield Silvers. Do you use nest boxes for yours? Mine love their lofts, i fill the loft with sand and run a ramp up to the loft.

I don’t use nest boxes; mine just lay wherever they are and they don’t sit on their eggs
