I'm new here but have had chickens for most of my life. Just got 15 dark brahma chicks. Looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing about your flocks!

They are free in my front yard which has a 7 ft fence. I don't know the exact size.they will have access to 2 sheltered areas for rainy days and feeding. I also have a 16ft by 16ft stall no longer in use for horses that I might use. Joking about getting more...I will probably be giving a friend a couple of the 15 as that's a lot of eggs!Welcome to BYC!
How big is your coop?
Uh, will be free! Right now, they are in the spare bedroom in a brooder ! There are 3 retired hens in the front yard! They are free in my front yard which has a 7 ft fence. You would need something enclosed (a coop), if you want your birds to survive out there. Chickens are prey animals, pretty much every animal is a threat. Unfortunately its true. They are free in my front yard which has a 7 ft fence. I don't know the exact size.they will have access to 2 sheltered areas for rainy days and feeding. I also have a 16ft by 16ft stall no longer in use for horses that I might use. Joking about getting more...I will probably be giving a friend a couple of the 15 as that's a lot of eggs!
