My name is Michelle Covert. My family and I live in a small northern California town southwest of Lake Tahoe. My husband and I have four sons, three of them are grade school age and at home. They are crazy about our new flock we got this year, 2 roosters, 9 hens, 2 turkeys, and five ducks. Our Americauna(sp?) /Maran hen, May, recently layed a clutch of 18 eggs and has been broody for several weeks now, so we may have some chicks on the way! I've had chickens on and off for the past 20 years, so I have some experience, but I seem to learn something new everyday as raising a successful flock can be complicated, but also rewarding! I'm excited to join BYC to learn even more and also give advice from my research/experiences to help other flock owners as well.
