Hi all, I'm a Maine Girl
Grew up with a small flock of chickens and last May finally convinced my dh to get us a mini flock. 3 Black Austrolorp, 3 RIR, 5 Comets & 2 BO, later we acquired an Americauna/EE.
1 Week ago our beloved Husky 13 month old puppy barged into the run by pushing the door against the hinge and got access to our girls.
3 killed, 2 badly injured needing to be put down, and 2 others injured. ( One died last night )
We surrerended her to the local humane society in order to protect the remaining flock as well as our neighbors flocks.
Sunday we went and got 2 doz barnyard mix fertilized eggs consisting of LegHorn, BO, Americana, RIR, Comets, Wyndottes, Barred Rock & Plymouth Rock
Between Internet Searching and Raising Chickens for Dummies I found BYC.
I love gardening. I am a stay at-home-mom. I'm married to a great guy with 6 children, ages 2-16 (4 boys - 2 girls) , 3 cats & I have a assortment of fish.
