Glad you joined us!

X2 on Wyandottes7's advice, though I've never heard of worms causing yolk color changes.

The worms themselves don't exactly cause the yolk color to be light. However, a bird with a heavy worm infestation will not be as healthy. They will put less energy into the egg, and the yolk color may lighten. Just as a bird with a worm infestation will often appear pale.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

It could be a sign of worms. Or it also could be a sign of lack of nutrition. Do your chickens have proper food? Do they have a constant water supply? What about calcium? Greens and marigolds are good for darkening yolks.
