Hi everyone, introducing my little teenagers. We have here the larger ones are a cross between Americana/Spitzhauben (sp?), yellow/white are light brahmas and the small black/white are black jerseys.

Sooo cute and I’m in love, but could anyone please help me to maybe try and guess which are boys or girls? 🙂

Do you know about how old they are? How did you get them? Like are they all SUPPOSED to be girls or was it straight run (that means they’re a non-sexed group)?

To me (coming from 5 years of owning chickens, but it was only at the beginning of those years that I had teenage chickens like you have now) it looks like they’re all girls.

Hello! Welcome to BYC! I Also have light Brahmas and Black Jersey Giants! Both breeds are awesome! Enjoy yourself here!

Generally, those with splotchy coloring will be the males, and those with more even color patterns will be the females.

That said, most of these are too young for certainty.

I'll give you my impressions:

1, 3, 8, and the one on the right in picture 9 are pullets.

2 and 5 strike me as being cockerels, but too soon to say for sure.

I think you should update with new, individual pictures in a few weeks, making sure to show the combs and the full side view of the bodies.

the 6 larger ones were hatched 4/20, the Spitzcanas" (what she called them) Ameraucana / Spitzhauben - don’t know if that’s a real thing or not, so 4/5 weeks. These are straight run. She is a few towns over from me. The light brahmas and black jerseys are one week younger. Those I got from the local grain and feed store. They said straight run as well.
Never thought I would have birds as friends but that’s what they are now haha.

Thank you :) I for sure will update with better pictures, these beauties were so happy to be outside after being inside because of the rain for 3 days. I’m by far not an expert at all.
These ones that I think are males, act very proud and pushy all at the same time.
Pic 1: I believe they are both girls
Pic 2&3: same bird, I believe is a boy (the gold just started coming in and I am loving it)!
Pic 4: boy
Pic 5: boy
Pic 6: girl - she is the smallest, but loudest chirper
Pic 7: all girlies
Pic 8: I believe is a boy, he is one of the largest right now and is one serious dude
Pic 9: I think is a boy, this one is a class clown and always zooming around into all the others then running away.
Pic 10: lil dude is in the middle and the other 2 light brahmas who I believe are girls.

I will, I am so very excited to watch all their little personalities develop! The Jersey giants and brahmas are certainly my zoom zoom birdies right now! Haha

1 and 17 are the ones I think could be boys. The picture arrangement seems different from before, or maybe my mind was drifting.

I think 2, the one on the left in picture 4, and 12 are girls.
