Just want to say hi and share my novice excitement. We've been waiting for our peeps to grow up...(2 hens and a rooster Easter Eggers) and start laying eggs. We also acquired two Buff Wyandottes that are already laying. For 8 days, the new girls have been giving us these wonderful brown eggs...now one of my babies joined them and laid her first blue tiny egg. I was SO excited. Now...should we wait for the eggs to get larger or her to have more laying experience before we eat the new egg?

Congrats on the first egg! Sometimes these little eggs don't have yolks or half developed yolks, but apart from that they are fine. Boil it, fry it... enjoy it!

Howdy mother clucker, As already mentioned above! Why not go ahead and dig in! Pullet eggs are always much smaller and once your chickens molt and turn into hens the eggs will increase in size.
