Hello! I have gotten so much out of this site already. We got six baby chicks born 10/11/17. The run wasn't ready so I got babies to keep myself from grumbling about the run not being done. We just moved them from the laundry room in the dog crate to their beautiful big girl run and coop. We have one Americauna (Chicken Little), one Brown Leghorn (Maya), two Black (or red?) sex-links (Thelma and Louise) and two Dominiques (Trixi and Bernadette). We are having so much fun watching the discover the world. It's like chicken tv! We are trying to get them to go into their coop by themselves at night, but so far, we have had to grab and deposit almost all of them for the past two nights. I am going to try a brighter light like the 125W that I had in the brooder. Wish us luck!

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

The Learning Centre is a great resource. Personally, I have also found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Welcome to BYC and congratulations on your new flock.

Including your general location, under your avatar will help other members to give the best advice possible for any future input / questions that you may have.

Best wishes
