new to chickens

Hi Ya'll we are new to raising chickens but wanted to do something to cut costs especially the cost of purchasing eggs from the local grocer
we purchased 7 chicks; 3 layers and 4 for meat.
The breeder did tell us what their breeds were but in all of excitement we have forgotten. we did name them however

.
We have Thelma and Louise, the Chicken Dales and Lady no name (couldn't find a name that fit her)

We came upon BYC while researching everything we could find about raising chickens and i tell you, there is no better site that we have found so decided to join.

We live on Table Rock Lake in Missouri and love fishing!!!!!! Caring for our 1 year old GSD and of course now raising chickens. We are both Real Estate Agents, which too, is new for us as we retired from the stress of Real Jobs. We also do home renovations.

So happy to be a part of BYC.
