I have 3 1/2 almost 4 week old chicks. (Red sexlink and Easter eggers). 5 of each. We just transfered them from the tote to the chicken coop. It is an 8x8 coop, we have the red light on still, chicken starter food, and water. We just moved them on the 25th of June and we are worried they are not drinking water. We introduced them to both as we have before. Is this normal for them not to drink? We have seen some drink, but not all. They stay inside until they get older, no run at this time. Thanks for any information.

Hi and welcome to BYC. Providing you have seen some of them drink, I'd say it's safe to assume that they are actually drinking

I tend to agree that if some are drinking it is likely they all are. They really watch each other and if one of the chickens is doing something I would be very surprised if the others haven't tried to do the same.

Thanks for the encouragement. I just don't want to have upset kiddos.
