New to chickens

G’Day from down under Neebiechix :frow Welcome!

BYC has a Buy, Sell, Trade Forum but you will need to have made at least 20 posts before you can participate.

For this reason, you might want to Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello. Someone there may be able to assist you.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

The Learning Centre is also an excellent resource.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Hi All,
I'm just now building my coop and run. I was wondering if there were any suggestions as to when and where I should purchase pullets? I live in Northcoast California. The winters are fairly mild.
Thanks.
Farm supply stores sell them in the spring. If you order online it's costly as most have a 25 chick minimum and shipping also risky mailing in winter. But I would look for local poultry sites on facebook and purchase from other chicken farmers until spring comes.Good luck.. I enjoy my chickens.
