New to Chickens

Hi,
I knew I wanted Guineas to help with pest control and snakes. But the 7 extra chick's were an impulse buy. I started with 4 Orpingtons and then ordered my Guineas. But a trip to Tractor Supply one day, and I saw they had some Easter Eggers. Which were some I'd wanted to get. So I picked up 4 of them which were supposed to be all females, but one turned out to be a Rooster. Then in another tank there were 3 little chick's all by themselves and they were male and female. I think I have 1 Rooster from them.

Hi,
I'm Kit, and I just moved to a place where I can have chickens. I started with 4 baby chick's, then several months later I picked up 7 more along with 14 guinea fowl. We just finished our third chicken coop and are getting it ready for the 7 chickens new home. The 14 Guineas are housed in an enclosed area of my small coop, and once the 7 are in their new home I'll open up the door for the Guineas so they have more room.
Welcome to BYC!! I’ve never had guineas before, how are they to take care of?

Hi, Thanks. Guineas are like taking care of chickens, except when I feed them I just put there food on the ground. They don't eat out of the feeders, they like to scratch for their food. And I give them a bit more dried grasshoppers and worms.
