This is my first post to BYC and have been reading a lot on how to care for my new chicks.
I am new to chickens and I am trying to sex my 11 chicks that are all about 2 weeks old. I have a mix of sex links, astrolops, wayanotte, and leghorns. (My girls picked out the pretty ones). I also have a few from that are hatchery choice straight run and don't know what they are. Some are getting what looks to be the start of a comb but are the ones I picked out that were said to be females. the lady at the store said that you can also flip them over on their back in your hand and if they relax they are female, if they fight, male. All mine relaxed. I don't think I lucked out and got 11 females!
