Hello, my family and I are wanting to take steps toward self-sustainability. I ordered 30 coturnix quail eggs from a reputable farm in Ohio and have had hatching occurring the last few days. These eggs were shipped the week after the new year when it was very cold, so I was not expecting much but so far have seen 17 eggs hatch and all appear very healthy. After allowing the eggs 24 hours to settle I began incubating them on Friday January 17th at 6:00am. 32 eggs arrived of which 3 were visibly broken and were discarded. 3 more eggs had almost microscopic, small dent or hairline crack so I decided to use a very small piece of scotch tape to cover the damage and attempt incubation for a total of 29 eggs in the incubator.

I think I got my dates a little messed up as I put the eggs into lockdown on Friday Morning the 31st at 6:00am.
*I had 5 hatch on Monday FEB 3rd, I then had 9 hatch on FEB 4th, and 3 hatch this morning Feb 5th for a total of 17*

I still have 12 eggs in the incubator and am wondering how much longer I should give them?
Of the remaining eggs one looks slightly imploded with the outer shell missing and white membrane showing. The rest have no movement etc... I was not sure if I shrink wrapped the final eggs when quickly scooting dry babies out for brooder but there were three more hatched and dry this morning before I went to work (I misted the air with water, opened brooder, snatched babies, shut and immediately returned to 70-75 Humidity).

Just looking for general advice, I am intending to raise these quail primarily for eggs. Not sure if I will ever transition to meat. I will be keeping them in a work shed on my property (has power) in a Cimuka brand bi-level cage. I plan to keep 5 females with a male x2.
