We have an accidental rooster (well three) and we would LOVE to keep them (one has a new home though soon) however our little OEG Bantam rooster crows non-stop. I think he crows more than he does eat, if that says anything to the amount of crowing to you. Is this just because it is a new found thing or is he just going to be nonstop noise? He sure is the most handsome and my daughters favorite bird but Im not sure we can keep him if he does nothing but crow, the neighbors and all...
Our other rooster we might keep is a bantam cochin type and only crows twice in the mornings and is good from then on!

Roosters often crow more when there are other crowing roosters around. I have lots of roosters, so there is lots of crowing around here, but luckily my neighbors are not near. After the third rooster is rehomed see if you OEG still crows as much. I can't say they crow less as they get older though.

All roosters crow. Some roosters seem to crow more than they breathe. If you have one of them, he's not going to settle down much. If he were the only boy you kept, he might get a tad less frequent, but don't expect miracles, unfortunately.

I think he is too handsome to get rid of. Think my neighbors need to learn to love him like we do lol

If the neighbors are given eggs on occasion they also may be less likely to complain. Also if the OEG rooster is kept in the coop until normal waking hours, I would think his crow is not really noisier that a barking dog.

LOL he crows in the coop too! I don't wake up and let them out early unless I am up that early and haven't gone to bed yet. (Horrible insomnia suffer here). He is just always crowing!!!

He is such a little guy I think it's the small man syndrome so he is loud and lets the world around him know he is here and in charge as often as possible!
