New to Ducks!! Black Runners

Im New to ducks and I was just wondering how they handle the snow?? I have to baby Black Runners. I have read some confliction stuff and wanted to reach out to anybody that has them. Any advice??

At first, they are not happy about snow. I always put straw or shavings down for their little feet, and don't leave them out too long. Too long is not a set number of minutes. It is based on whether it is sunny or cloudy, the temperature, and mostly their behavior. If anyone starts acting like the cold is getting to them ( hunched up, shivering, very lethargic, limping), in we all go.

Keeping them occupied helps. After they are used to the snow, they start seeding out ice and snow to eat and play with. Acht likes to climb snow piles and ski down them.

Salad is a hit any time of year.

I cover the Day Pen with a tarp to keep the snow off the bedding.
