New to ducks

Hi,
We have had chickens for a number of years. Today we got some Indian Runners from a friend! Is there any special consideration that needs to be made in adding ducks to my flock?

have you visited the Duck part of the Learning Centre! I dont know if anything there will answer your q's, btu maybe there are some others memebrbs here that have some duck experiance!

The Stickies at the top of the Duck Forum are helpful.

Drakes may try to mate with chickens and that can be fatal to the chicken.

Ducks enjoy their water differently than chickens, often making it muddy. They need at least to be able to wash their heads to stay healthy. A kiddie pool is helpful.

Most domestic ducks do not roost.

Ducklings need three times the niacin that chicks do.
