Hi Everyone
i am an avid gardner and outdoorsman. I got 5 chickens back in October and things were going great with no issues. I wanted to add to my flock, so i have read many articles and watched videos on how to do it. I added 4 more chickens(2 barred rock,2 buffs to my already 2 white leghorn and 3 golden comets)I kept them in a separate little coop inside my coop for 4 days with no contact, then started introducing a little at a time. Big ones chasing and new little ones (12-14 weeks)hiding , then at 7 days waited till night and put new girls to sleep in roost after big ones went to roost. Did this for 3 nights and still during the day the big ones chase and peck and little ones hide. They hide up high in a small space where big ones can't go, they only come down to et and drink when i let the big ones out to roam the yard. Its now been 2 weeks, is this going to get better?
Thanks for any advice.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
It will get better but it takes a long time. Give them all as much space as possible. That helps tremendously. Also have lots of places where the littles can get our of sight of the bigs.
I have a sub-group of fifteen 9-week olds slowly working their way into my adult flock of 10 hens and 1 rooster. Some of the hens are now ignoring the littles and allow them to approach. This took about 4 weeks.
