Hello, my name is Karen. We have had chickens for over a year now, and my daughter found a fox with one of her chickens in its mouth. Luckily the hen (jasper) was saved, but unluckily our other two hens (etta and red) were dead. My daughter went out and purchased 3 more chicks to make it easy on my grandkids. (ages 6 and 4). We enjoy the chickens and we keep them as pets and layers. Our extra eggs we give to our neighbors, but now we are down to 1 egg a day. When my daughter purchased the chicks she forgot to get the name of what kind they are and what are the sexes. I would love to be able to tell if they are hens, and what breed they are. So if there is anybody out there that can possible help me out with the questions that I have. I would greatly appreciate it. We are also looking for plans to build a bigger hut for them.
Thank you,
Karen
