New to hobby chickens

Hi, I am 10 months into having my first flock of buff orpingtons. I have 1 Rooster and 6 hens. Unfortunately I was not able to handle them much when they were young. My finance` got them for me for my birthday and 3 weeks later was diagnosed with cancer. He passed away in November. So Unfortunately my chickens do not let me handle them. I regret that. I do enjoy them though. Love getting eggs and giving them treats.
So here I am on this project by myself. So I have lots of questions as I go. Thank you for letting me join.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your fiancé. The chickens actually do offer true therapy. Just sit with them and watch them. They will become used to you and enjoy your company soon enough.
