New to incubation

I’m new to incubation. I decided to incubate with encouragement from my grandkids. My question is when should I candle the eggs to check progress? I’m only doing 12 eggs so anything I do with them would be quick. Thank you

You can do it once a day or every three days or whatever you feel like doing.

I always like to do 7 days for the first candling. I find development generally shows well by then but of course you could do them everyday if you wish

Thank you. I’m hatching mutts. I don’t have a rooster so I bought a dozen eggs from an egg seller locally. Time will tell. I know the gk’s are excited

So exciting
It will be like a kinder surprise
My grandkids loved when I hatched my first batch
They named their eggs
They enjoyed it so much they the granddaughter asked her teacher to hatch
So we did a class hatch and this year that teacher has asked me again
Now my grandson is in her class
