New to poultry

Hello,

I am a retired botanist and environmental scientist. I got chickens a few years ago to cheer up a room mate who just found out she had MS. They did the trick. She suddenly had a reason to get up in the morning and gave me a daily social report. When she passed, I inherited the flock of characters.
A weed outbreak this spring motivated me to add weeder geese and a mallard duck. I am going through baptism by fire here. Talk about a crash course in personalities! I really need to network with other bird tenders.
