New to quail

[Plucky Clucks]

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me with identifying the sex of these little guys!

Smallest, most flighty and vocal

Not shy of being handled but always on the move

Largest and most chill, this one startles at nothing.

I have one other not pictured that is pure white. Figured I'd have to just wait and see with that one. They're all from the same setting and hatched within 2 days of each other.

Yeah, they're a lot more fun to raise than I thought, their little chirping sounds are so pretty and gurgling

I think the first one is female and the second is male. Not sure about the last two. I've heard that coturnix with speckles on their breasts feathers are female, while rust is male. Here is the link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/102281/coturnix-quail-basics-information-and-pictures-galore

Oh they look like mine! The rusty breasted one's are boys and the speckles are girls...I've been experimenting with sexing via sound....my first batch the vocal one's were the boys...I'm on my second batch any paying attention to who is the loudest...hope this works! They are just the neatest little birds aren't they?
