We are getting our first chickens in a couple of days. A friend is hatching them for us so we are going to be surprised with whatever we get. I am quite excited about becoming "new parents" to chickens as I have wanted them for years and finally convinced the hubby to go along with it. Our family consists of two dogs, one cat, and two horses so we hope the new arrivals fit in without too many casualties. Our human family consists of 4 children who have deserted their parents in pursuit of spouses and children of their own. (three have succeeded in their venture). So hubby and I are up for a new adventure with babies in the home once again! We are hoping to be successful enough to see eggs someday, maybe we'll have enough of the critters survive to tell their side of the story.

What general area of Michigan do you live? North, South, East, West, UP, Thumb?

WELCOME from a fellow Michigander!!! Where are you at? We are on the "west" coast along Lake Michigan.

Good luck to you with your chickens.....they are very addictive. Pretty soon you will want to hatch your own!!!

Meanwhile, I'm SICK,SICK, SICK of this snow.
