Hey there! We Bert, (hubby) and I are getting into raising chickens in the desert. Right this minute we are getting set up with a small coop/run, food/water containers, etc. in our city limit yard. We're planning on getting about 4 hens very soon from a lady who's moving and can't take them with her. So they are already established and laying. This is just a trial to see if we even will like doing this. If we can eat healthier w/o added hormones and whatever the big companies inject into chickens, then it will be worth while. Our hens will be different breeds, as I would love to have colored eggs. I really think this will be fun for us to do and learning as we go. Just nervous and want to care for them as best as I can. I've be-friended some FB groups already for advice and tips on raising chickens in the hot Vegas desert, (Boulder City). Glad that I don't have to worry too much about the winters for them.

Anyway the only other pet we have is Truffles, my bumbling boo boo cat. he's spoiled rotten. I own a small teeny tiny quilting business finishing quilts on my long arm machine, I love what I do. Recently decided to explore my skills and expand into art quilts, thread painting, water marbling and designing patterns, etc. My great hubby of 15 years is always supportive of what I do and is a big help to me. We've been renovating our home studio and other areas in the house. Just had to put in a brand new air conditioner/heating system, wow that was pretty expensive!

Well I'll stop the long winded post for now....I'll be here and there from time to time, so stop by and say Hi! I do have questions concerning our future egg layers so I'll ask next time I'm on...
Have a Marvelous Day,
Quilts I Am
