New to raising chickens

Hello, I am waiting on my first slick to arrive on 3-24-13. I have always wanted to raise chickens but have not had the place to do . I now have a new home with plenty of space for a small flock. I have 8 chicks coming 4 red stars and 4 buff orpingtons. I have my brooder set up and my coop is going to be complete soon! I am sure I will have some questions so I am glad I found this site!
