I am so tired of coons, ugh! They hit me hard last summer nearly wiping me out, and have started in again, and we are having a devil of a time getting it taken care of.
I love a rooster in the flock, and as I started with all hens for a couple of years, then added a rooster, my day time predation stopped once the rooster was a year old, they are not real good before that as said. Personally, I like a rooster raised in a multigenerational flock. There ARE bigger bird that will teach them some manners. So I think that adding them to your flock, is a good idea.
But as stated up above, roosters are bit of a crap shoot. So are wonderful, some are nightmares. Some get along their whole lives, some get along until one day. Some do fine together without hens, then when added to hens, the fight is on. I am not trying to discourage you from trying this, but have things so that you can separate them if needed before you need to.
They do change the flock dynamics, where as now the hens look to you, they will look to him.
Generally adding roosters is the easiest introduction, but as these are so young, it might be better to play pen them for a bit.
