New to Rural Life - NC

Hello-
Michigan girl. Enjoying our 3 acre property with a large turtle pond. We have about 50 turtles, Raised 20 hatchlings - that was interesting and a lot more work than I thought. Have 9 cats from the neighboring homes and farms that visit. I call them the Cat Patrol. I work from home
so I thought having a small 2-3 chicken coop would be manageable and give me a morning routine that isn’t ”coffee, shower, brush teeth, start working….” I need a fresh air hobby. Our house is perfect so no indoor DIY projects for me to do.

I know NOTHING but am eager to learn and very open to all advice.

Pets include Frenchie and Tabby Cat. Three adult sons. Youngest is in the Navy and married to his Navy wife.

Hi, @Pork Pie has given you some great links to check out. I'd recommend starting with at least 3-4 birds (or more)...losses happen and you don't want to be left with a lonely single bird (they are flock animals).
