(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have been around chickens most of my life. Even though I didn't raise them until I became an adult I always had neighbors who let me help.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now: 21
Next week we have to get rid of the extra roos, so we will lose 4. We were unbelievably lucky in our hen to roo ratio.
But then we will gain 4 or 5 on the 12th, so then we will even out again.
(3) What breeds do you have?
3 Brahmas: 2 gold partridge, 1 gold laced, (on October 12th I will be getting a gold partridge roo, 1 silver laced, 2 buff laced, and another gold partridge hen)
4 Lavender Americaunas (one is actually a recessive white, and he is the most beautiful white chicken I have ever seen.
9 Marans (2 wheaten, 1 black copper, 4 blue, and 2 splash)
1 Cream Legbar
4 Speckled Sussex

My sister is a member, as well as a few friends.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a published poet. I garden, build chicken coops, sew, cook, and work as a writer for a great online company.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share?
My husband and I are getting ready to adopt a sibling group of 3. We have 3 pugs and a chug. I write for my job. I LOVE raising my chickens and guineas. They make me smile or laugh everyday. Can't wait to get to know some of you.
