Hey everyone,
New here and new to chickens. We got 6 chicks 4wks ago (2 pullets- isa browns and 4 straight run- easter eggers and orpingtons).
I grew up in the city and now live in the country, so wanted my 2 kids to experience having chickens who make our breakfast. Our chocolate labs however can't get enough of them and we have to be on our toes to make sure they don't scare them.
I have to say I am in love with the chicken. Love holding and petting them. The browns are still skidish, but I hope they will soon be use to being handled. I also have to say I am surprised that the two I suspect are roos are very friendly. Fingers crossed they stay that way.
I am happy I found BYC. I found this forum from doing searches on chickens. I can't wait to learn more from everyone here.
