hi y’all. I am a fairly new chicken mom. I got 3 Australorp chicks in March, raised them in my home office while the ‘chix carlton’ was being built and now they are happy in their new home outside! each of them are starting to show their own personality and I have loved watching them grow.

Thank you! I actually have a question and know that I will get some great answers from folks here. I thought I had 3 hens but one is maturing quicker and someone told me she is a rooster.

Yup, I was suspicious of the one with the big red comb & wattles. But like someone else said...wait and see. I guess you'll know pretty soon if "she" starts to crow. I thought right away that one of my chicks that hatched April 18 was a boy just from his behavior and posture. And sure enough, it's a roo! I named him BC for Boy Chick. Hasn't started crowing yet though and he's super cute. Of course they all are!! Great coop by the way.
