Hi!
Our family has recently moved to the country. We have about 6 acres with around 1 of those acres being a pond. We are starting to look into chickens & maybe some ducks later for the pond. We are "city folks" so this could get interesting. We LOVE the colorado country & can't wait to become "country folk" we are starting with baby steps so we thought chickens would be a great start. I would love any advice you might have to offer & if anyone is in the Berthoud Colorado area we would even love to "peek at your peeps" to get some start up ideas. My yungest is SOOOO excited & wants to just go get chickens RIGHT NOW

Thanks for all the future advice, looking forward to all the info on here!
Blessings!

I got my first chicks from a mail order hatchery and got the mixed bag-we had fun guessing the breeds as they grew!
Have fun and your gonna love 'em!

Chickens are a GREAT way to start! Tons of coop ideas here, free range advice if you go that route, and the duck topic section is great when you are ready to take the plung there as well! Here's to country living!
