Hello! I don't have any questions, but I've been reading the forum a lot lately. I've been thinking about chickens for a few years, and reeaaally thinking about them since I bought a house last year. I took the plunge and pre-ordered my chicks last week from Meyer and will be picking them up in June. I'm in NW Ohio.
I have experience with a lot of animals, but chickens have somehow eluded me so far - I have done a lot of work in animal behavior and my chickens primarily will be pets (though I am going to encourage egg laying because mmmmm, eggs.) I'm excited to study their behavior, train them and just have a grand ol' time. I live in the city but have a bit of yard for free ranging (and understanding neighbors, luckily!) and my run is almost done, still working on the coop. They'll be allowed to free range in the yard under supervision once they're a bit older. They'll be living in the house for the first four or five weeks, so that'll be exciting!
I'm excited to have some people to share my chicken journey with, thanks for having me!
