Hi there,
I grew up on a farm with various livestock, including chickens, but just recently started my own flock as an adult. I live in Southern Maryland and have a good bit of acreage on which we maintain our horses, now chickens, and soon a few feeders steers. My kids are in 4H though we have not shown any livestock other than the horses. My husband is my chief mechanic and general contractor. He’s not much of an animal guy but he likes me enough put up with it all 🤣. I have lured him in to chicken ownership with the promise of fresh eggs so now I need to make that happen 😉. Anyway, thanks for having me!

Guess I should have added that we have 12 4-5 wk old chicks. Currently living in my office but about to move to their coop as the weather is warming up. We have...

3 Silkies
3 Gold Laced Wyandottes (bought as straight run from TSC so a wild card)
1 Black Australorp pullet
3 Ameraucana pullets
2 Sapphire Gem pullets

And in a few weeks time I will be raising 4 Cream Legbar pullets. After that I think I’ll have the perfect amount depending on how many of my unknowns end up being roos.
